High temperature high shock oscillator meets even downhole requirements

IQD has launched a newly designed high-temperature clock oscillator. The new LHAT series is housed in a 7x5mm dual hermetically sealed ceramic package with gold plated kovar leads attached using a robust eutectic brazing process. The oscillators are capable of operating at temperatures from +25 to +200 degrees C.

The LHAT series is available with a frequency range of 320kHz to 50MHz, a frequency stability of ±100ppm over +25 to +150 degrees C, and also ±175ppm over +25 to +200 degrees C for applications which need a higher temperature range. Operating at 3.3V this CMOS output clock oscillator can withstand a shock of 30,000g, 0.3ms. ½ sine and a vibration of 20g, 10-2,000Hz swept sine as per MIL-STD-202G Method 204D condition D.

The unique method used to connect the leads to the package reduces the mechanical and thermal mounting stresses, making the LHAT series ideal for applications which are used in demanding mechanical and high thermal situations including: downhole instrumentation, rotary shaft sensors, underground mining tools and avionics applications.
