Gaptec Electronic has launched a new non-insulated 0.5A SMD switching regulator series with a wide input range of 4.5 to 28V. When in use, the LMT78 does not require a heat sink, so requires less space on the PCB. The SMD devices come with an adjustable output voltage and includes a remote ON/OFF control.
The series offers a MTBF of > 2 million hours and offer extremely high efficiency up to 96%. The operating temperature range is -40°C to +85°C. The LMT78 series offers great short circuit protection and low ripple and noise (typically 10mVp-p at 20MHz bandwidth) and are suited space constrained mobile applications.
