embedded world 2011

The embedded world Exhibition&Conference 2011 is all set for yet another record event. Around 790 exhibiting companies (international share 42%) – 7 % up on the previous event – from all over the world present their products and services at the most relevant international exhibition and conference for embedded systems from 1–3 March.

Trends and focuses at embedded world 2011

Exhibitors at embedded world 2011 will offer energy-optimized solutions and products in all product segments – hardware and software, tools and services. The priority is on efforts to cut energy consumption with increased system power. This makes it particularly clear that the embedded systems industry is one of the pioneers for saving resources in the future.

Besides energy efficiency, the embedded world Exhibition&Conference 2011 focuses on communication. First, communication between the individual devices, like M2M communication. Second, communication plays a key role especially regarding cloud computing in the embedded sector. Cloud computing makes it possible to combine individual embedded components to provide features not possessed by the individual components themselves.

embedded world Conference 2011

The embedded world Conference is the leading European event for the embedded industry again in 2011 and covers all fields of embedded system development. The embedded world Conference 2011 once again presents an innovation marketplace for ideas and a platform for problem solutions.

In his keynote lecture at 11.30 a.m. on Wednesday, 1 March 2011, Prof. Dr. Yrjö Neuvo, Helsinki University of Technology, former Executive Vice President and CTO at Nokia, outlines the challenges confronting developers of future embedded systems. The major topics of the conference are: ARM Cortex architecture, multicore, networking, security, libraries and Open Source. This year’s conference is focused compactly on the major topic blocks, which makes it an unequalled opportunity to meet the industry’s thought leaders for jointly designing the most innovative embedded systems. The main topics are in line with the theme of the “embedded world Technology Report” prepared by the “embedded world expert board”, which comprises experts from twelve companies. In 2011, this deals with the subject of “Energy-efficient internal and external communication”.
